My students loved this program!

I had the pleasure of using Treasure Hunt Books with students who receive special education services in reading. We started with the Level A books, which helped students see that they could succeed and gave them the confidence to tackle more challenging levels. At my school we always talk about going back into the text to look for evidence to support answers. The Treasure Hunt Books made going back into the text fun, not only in the Treasure Hunt Books, but in other reading materials. Students were so bought into this program that they wanted to bring the books back to their class so they could go on treasure hunts with their friends. Not only did this program make reading fun for my students, it also built their skills and confidence!

My students absolutely loved Treasure Hunt Books! Once they learned the hunt process, they were able to work independently at their own speed and level. The hunts inspired them to slow down and read carefully so that they could get the right answer to each clue, and they practiced critical thinking skills to draw inferences. The entire time my class was working with these books they were engaged and excited! When they finished one book, they couldn’t wait to go on to the next!
