In a traditional treasure hunt, the clues are hidden in a physical environment (such as a home); therefore, all of the clue answers must be objects within that environment. In a Treasure Hunt Book, each clue answer is found on a page within the book; therefore, clue answers can be almost anything: a sport, an animal, a color, a food, a number, an emotion, etc. Each treasure hunt focuses on just one topic. So, if the topic is sports, then every answer in that hunt is a sport.
The clue format varies as well. Each clue is in the form of a poem or prose, and the length of the clues varies by level. The Level A clues are the shortest and easiest, and so on.
